The big issue we are having right now is that the botched upgrade from six years ago pretty much killed the old forum and the bulk of the members left. While we do have a handful of contributors at the moment, we really are a shell of what we once were. Sad, but true. We really need a major influx of newer, younger blood to bring fresh material and attract new members to revitalize the forum. This is complicated by the fact that new contributors have far more options than this forum to showcase their work. RP and AI art have kept us alive and I am grateful to those folks. Yet it is not the same and the bulk of the lost members are gone for good. We have also lost members due to folks simply ageing out and leaving the community. I understand that because I have been here 16 years and I was not exactly a 20-year-old when I joined. I can assure you my age has caught up with me, too.
We need a new generation of folks dedicated to not only producing good works, but willing to share their works here and direct people here to revitalize the forums. The old FP is gone. It died in 2020 with the botched upgrade. What we have here now is a chance to try and bring FP back, if it is possible. We need the new generation to do that. I have been tap-dancing around with myself in figuring out how to say this to everyone and your post finally motivated me to do it.
