Server Moving - Q - 7th June 2026
Planned Downtime
So with our current Cloud/VPS provider, through one circumstance or another, we slid into a higher price bracket. This lead us to have to pay a bit more than necessary on the server, as computational and traffic costs are billed on us, while our virtualized hardware (we use a "VPS" plan), is basically as powerfull as your old smartphone from 5 years ago.
With the recent developments here, especially considering our RAM needs, me and our Owner Swammy, want to switch to a different plan, that offers:
- more RAM (we will go up from 2 to 8 GB or so)
- more disk space for backups/file uploads
- and is cheaper (back to a plan of like 8 USD a month).
For that purpose, the server will undergo a planned maintenance window on:
Time: 2026-06-08 02:45:00 UTC
Duration: 0.5 - 4 hours
Thanks to backups, I expect everything to go smoothly.
After the Server Moving I will not immediately be making any significant configuration changes, (that would leverage the additional RAM or the improved disk space). Those will be made in the weeks after the server moving. In essence, expect the Forum to operate the very same way, in the coming 1-2 weeks, in regards to speed and any issues as before, and report any discrepancies, so me and our Owner Swammy can rule out any issues arising from the Server Moving itself.

So unfortunately I overslept, and Swammy wasn't there neither. So, I postpone the maintenance window to a later time.
