The Futanari Palace Write a Story for the Picture Event Thread

Back in 2010, one of our members started a thread where members could claim a previously posted picture and write a story for it. This thread proved to be a great opportunity for both new writers and experienced authors to crank out short stories for whatever picture happened to be the current one for the topic. Because the pictures could have been anything, it provided a challenge for authors, not knowing what picture the prior member would post and then have the secondary challenge of weaving a good yarn around a single image.

As an effort to give new and aspiring writers an opportunity to hone talents, this challenge will be revitalized. To ensure this new thread avoids the chaos and eventual atrophy of its predecessor, the rules for this activity will be a bit more stringent. I can already hear some folks, "Oh god, here comes dxasmodeus and his clipoard full of motherfucking rules…grumble, grumble, bitch, gripe." Well, folks can relax because the rules are not that bad. Here goes:

1) Only ONE picture at a time will be up for consideration by the prospective writers. Pictures that are posted while a prior picture is active may be deleted by the Staff to preserve the thread and avoid confusion. If the picture contains extreme content, place it behind a SPOILER and add tags indicating what the fetishes are. I would recommend against the more extreme fetishes, such vore, watersports, scat and excessive violence, as because it may drive away most perspective writers. Likewise, loli/shota pictures still cannot be posted outside those fourms.

2) All story submissions should be between 1500-5000 words. Stories must be substantial, but there is no reason to write a Tom Clancy novel, either.

3) A prospective writer who wishes to write a story must make a post saying, "CLAIMED" (Think Walking Dead. :)) When the story is ready, the writer will edit the same post by adding the story behind SPOILERS and adding tags to the description. Likewise, the author will submit the next picture, which should also be under a SPOILER label. Do not forget to TAG your story appropriately.

4) After an author has claimed a picture, the author has two weeks to complete and submit the story. If the story is not completed, the current author's claim is null and void. While this may be a short amount of time, this is to keep the thread moving. The prior incarnation of this activity allowed writers to postpone posting indefinitely, which helped kill this the first time.

5) If a picture has gone three weeks without a claim or two claims have expired, the Staff will post a new picture to keep the thread going.

6) Once a writer has completed a submission, there will be a two-submission cooldown to allow other writers a chance to write for the next picture. If a picture is about to expire and there are no claims, only then may an author in cooldown claim the picture.

All members are free to comment, critique and otherwise discuss any of the stories at any time. This activity is meant to be fun and open. I actively encourage new writers to try one's hand at this. It is a great activity and may authors got their start in the same fashion, so have at it. :)

A Note Regarding Images:

Please make sure that the images you submit are neither too large or small. Be sure that the artist is not on the DNP. Remember that loli/shota can only be posted in the appropriate forum, which means that those pictures cannot be posted for this activity. However, there is nothing preventing forum members from starting a parallel thread in that forum for those who wish to write about those fetishes.
