Ecstasy on Havania
Havania. Why had she not returned, after such a long time? She had punished her attackers, those of them she could find, but she had never returned to her home planet.
Bleez, formerly a noble of this land, relaxed on the soft, grassy ground that coated one Havania's infinite verdant cliffs, overlooking a massive waterfall that snaked its way deeper into the planet's lush topography. Havania had no biting insects, few hostile animals. It's ecology was peaceful and gentle, and it was considered the second most beautiful planet in existence – second only to Odym, the home of the Blue Lantern Corps.
The girl laying there now was not a Blue Lantern, far from. She was a Red Lantern, a commander in the corps of the same name. She was fueled by rage, by anger. She was a bitter, scathing, and ambitious bitch, eternally haunted by the torment that had made her the way she was – attracted the red ring to her in the first place. Even now, she worried if her relaxed state would cause the ring to stop fueling her circulatory system, effectively killing her.
It was worth the risk, she thought as the cool, vibrant light of twin moons kissed at her pale blue skin. She needed to relax, and if relaxing would kill her then clearly, she needed to consider whether a life of bitterness was truly worth living....
“My apologies, stranger. I was unaware that anyone without the capability of independent flight was able to reach this spot.”
Bleez snapped into action, whirling back and spreading out her faintly-glowing bone wings. She pulled up the cowl of her costume, previously left down to expose her beautiful face to her home planet. “They aren't,” she growled, narrowing her piercing golden eyes and searching upward and around for the source of the voice. She found it quickly, though it came from behind her – a tall, lean, gorgeous alien with creamy orange skin and hair the color of fire. Actually, it sort of looked like it was fire. Her purple outfit left little to the imagination, making even Bleez's red-and-black swimsuit look modest by comparison.
“Who are you, alien?” Bleez hissed, a little burble of red plasma leaking from between her teeth and dribbling over her soft blue lips. It was rare that she had the privilege of calling someone else an alien, but this was Havania and Bleez was a havanian. She belonged here. The orange outsider did not.
“My name is Koriand'r, friend. I hail from Tamaran. I come to this place from time to time, to relax. I hope I have not offended you?” the woman's voice sounded genuine, completely peaceful. And, for once... Bleez didn't want to fight. She had come here to relax, and if even that activity ended in her standing over a pile of bloody chunks then she would have to admit, even to herself, that she was a monster. Unredeemable and no better than the Qwardian Corpsmen who had made her the way she was.
“N-no,” Bleez coughed quietly, the angry blaze of energy around her ring simmering down. “It's fine. There's... there's plenty of room for everyone.” Maybe, for once, she could just be a havanian girl. Not a red lantern. Not a blood-fueled engine of spite and vengeance. She laid back down on the grass, folding her bone wings behind her and thinking of the day when they had been feathered, soft. So, maybe not just a havanian girl. But she could try to be the next best thing. “My name's Bleez.”
“Then it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Bleez,” the tamaranean said pleasantly, sinking to her knees in the grass before laying forward, propping her chin up with her palms and observing the other woman. “May I ask a question?”
“That didn't take long,” Bleez growled. “What is it?”
“Why do you cover your face? Are you concealing your identity, like one of Earth's heroes?” Kori tilted her head to the side, watching Bleez fidget and look for an answer.
“Euh... something like that. It's part of my uniform, and I... just like to keep myself covered.”
“But you are not working,” the alien – who Bleez did not know was Princess Starfire – said inquisitively. “And I am not an enemy. Why conceal yourself from me?”
The red lantern huffed. “Look, I'll take the cowl down if that makes you happy.” She did as she promised, using her ring to dissolve the mask section of her outfit. This exposed her face and her short
