The words echoed through Sakura’s head as she continued her exercises. She’d immediately been suspect of the strange woman selling that ruby red flask of whitish goop, promising her that it’d make her stronger than a hundred kunoichi. But as she powered through another training dummy and left it a shattered pile of splintered sticks, she was now recognizing to her astonishment that the woman was telling the truth.

What was in that potion?

The medicine nin had stressed that she never take more than a one droplet a month. That the entire flask would easily last her lifetime and those of her children and her childrens children.

But something this potent.. how could it be sold for a few ryo in some back alley stall?

“Holy crap, forehead. What the hell did you just do to the training hall?”

Sakura whipped around with preternatural speed and looked at Ino with wild eyes, her green iris’ tightly hugging her pinprick pupils. She blushed as she looked around at the piles of wreckage strewn around her and blushed deeply. How did she get so carried away?

“Uh.. don’t know my own strength?” Sakura mumbled as she ran her hand against the back of her neck, the hairs on them bristling and standing up.

The blonde haired kunoichi’s brow furrowed suspiciously.

“Riiight. Well, I’ll help you get this place cleaned up before Tsunade see’s the damage you just did..”

She reached for the flask and quickly unscrewed the stopper, savouring the musky smell that spilled out as she brought it closer to her face. So salty and yet so sweet as well. Nothing else in the world smelled quite like her potion did.

Sakura had been waiting for this all month. The first time she’d tasted it a few months ago she’d thought that the viscous thick goo tasted a bit rancid.. but now.. now it tasted like divine ambrosia. Her mouth was watering as she anticipated that heavenly scent reaching her lips, dancing on her tongue, and then shooting out across her body and filling it with otherworldly energy that kept her alert and strong for weeks afterwards. She cursed the fact that she could only take a single measly droplet each month. How she longed to wrap her lips around it and take a long deep swig.

She lifted it high above her head, watching that dreamy droplet dance around the bottles neck and get ready to..

“Ah ha! I knew you were taking something!”

Sakura’s mouth snapped shut just as the goo slipped past her lips and smacked into a thick dab that was quickly dissolving away on her tongue. Trembling in place as the warmth spilled through her and set her soul alight once more, loudly moaning as she shut her eyes and smiled dreamily.

“Uh.. are you done?.. what the hell is that stuff?”

It took a few moments for Sakura to regain her composure and come back down from the high. She looked up at Ino with a giddy and naive smile.

“It’s a performance enhancer.”

“Performance enhancer?” Ino snorted. “You just looked like you went to the bathroom.”

Sakura rolled her eyes.

“Before you judge it, try some. I’m telling you, this stuff is incredible. One drop will make you feel invincible. Just one drop though.”

Much like the pink haired kunoichi, Ino’s first reaction to the elixir was to battle the urge to spit it out. She thought Sakura was insane.. But then, later that day she punched a meter deep crater into a dojo wall.
