Well now, I've been wanting to post at least one of my writing projects for a good long while. This is a story by Car2nage and I, and we're having quite a bit of fun so far! We originally wanted to write something together for the story contest, but after seeing the 5k word limit I was like "Pfft!" Next time there should be two divisions for people that like to write long winded tales and others that want to write short stories. Just saying. Who knows, I may offer to conduct that myself... But anyway! This story is a re-imagining of a story that we wrote a couple years ago called The Fall of Autumnsville. Personally, I wanted to do more with it, and I wasn't satisfied with the first chapter. We ended up scrapping a large majority of the idea and ended up breathing new life in a way that I think a lot of you will love. It is a slower story, and it won't be constant sex, but we still hope that you all will enjoy it! Chapter 1 is simply a setup chapter but is wholly necessary. I hope it'll be enough to grab your attention. As always, please thank, comment, and subscribe! It really helps a lot to know that people are interested in your work. Chapter 1 - Moving In
“That’s the last of them!”
Garrett Sanders had just finished unloading the last of his family’s possessions from the large U Haul truck. The middle aged man wiped his brow, getting rid of the sweat that threatened to sting his eyes. Moving - when was the last time he had done that? He couldn’t even recall. To be honest, he didn’t think that he would ever have to do this again. To live in a house for twenty years only to move suddenly wasn’t exactly something that he wanted to do, but circumstances change.
The man bent himself backwards, popping his back and then his neck. He muttered that he was getting too old for this, and while he was forty-seven years old, the man was actually in very fit shape. He looked quite rugged, bearing a staunch look in his eye. His body looked hard everywhere, barring the gut area - he had a bit of a paunch. He stroked his light beard as he sat down on the edge of the trunk and looked straight ahead at what was his new home.
Looking at it was like taking a step back in time. They didn’t make them like this anymore. It was a brick and mortar house, built to withstand the test of time. It was old, and yes it was in need of certain little repairs, but being a five bedroom, four bath house at the price they got it at, it was practically a steal.
