Alex sat on his own, in isolation, the school work he had been set was spread out before him untouched. He leaned back in his chair, glanced around the room to find as boring as it had been a few seconds ago, checked his phone for the time and then slumped onto his desk and let out a long sigh. This cycle had been going on for about half an hour until the door was flung open and a young girl, and a rather frustrated teacher marched into the room. Alex immediately sat up and tried his best to look like he had been working but failed miserably as his eyes caught sight of this girl and his jaw dropped. She was stunning. Standing about 5”3 with long red-ish hair which hung neatly down her back, she turned to face Alex as she lazily looked around the room. Alex tried a friendly smile but it was cut short as the teacher slammed the door and shouted,
“Eyes down Kerr! Get back to work!”
Reluctantly he looked down but out the corner of his eye he could still see her. She wasn’t skinny, she wasn’t fat, but she had all the right curves in all the right places, and the way her clothes hugged her body…….’Damn’, thought Alex, ’Why do they make school uniforms look so good? No wonder the teacher was pissed off if he couldn’t touch that!’
Alex pretended to get on with his work whilst she stood there, getting told off for disrupting the class and isn’t making a very good start or some other bullshit, until the teacher said that she would have to finish her work in isolation. She begrudgingly said she was sorry and sat down in a chair opposite from Alex and waited for the teacher to bring her a desk and her work. As soon as the door was closed and Alex was sure the teacher was out of ear shot, he looked up to see two deep hazel eyes staring right back at him. He felt a lump in his throat and all of a sudden just saying “Hi” became a mountain of a task. Alex was never bad with women….. he just wasn’t very good either, whenever he saw a girl he liked he just froze up like a rabbit caught in the head lights of a truck, waiting for his inevitable doom where he embarrasses himself and loses all chance of having anything to do with them. But to his shock she stood up, grabbed her chair, sat down next to him, smiled and said,
“Hey, I’m Elisha, you must be Alex right?”
“Uhh yeah, how did you know?” Alex’s mind was racing, had he met her before? Why was she being so nice? And why on earth was she looking at him as if she was checking him out!?
“Oh just because it says it on the front of your book.” She replied. ‘Well done Alex, keep up the good work’ he thought rather sarcastically to himself, acknowledging her with a chuckle. He ran his hand through his dark brown hair, a habit of his when he gets nervous, and asked,
“So are you new here? Haven’t seen you around before.”
“Yeah, moved here a few days ago.” She looked at him as if asking herself a question and then said, “Hey would you mind doing me a favor? I don’t know my way around the town yet and I haven’t made any friends …..but you seem nice would you mind showing me around after school?”
‘She must be joking, any second now she is just going to laugh in my face and tell me to get real’ Alex could hardly believe what he was hearing and just sat there, silent until she prompted him by saying,
“Well?”
“Oh yeah of course, sounds like fun, even though there’s not much to do here I’d lov….”
Alex was interrupted by the door open and the teacher entering the room with a desk and some papers.
“Kerr your time in isolation is up, get back to your class room.”
“Yes sir.” Alex gathered his things and just when he stood up something pinched his behind. He looked down and Elisha had grabbed his hand and shoved a folded up piece of paper in it. She smiled at him and watched him leave the room, Alex could feel her eyes follow him all the way until the door closed. As soon as he was out the room he opened up the piece of paper and read:
“I’ll wait at the reception. X”
‘Fucking hell’ thought Alex ‘Is she for real?’
